Desirnai’ Hicks
Board of Directors
Desirnai’ Hicks is a development, marketing and communications professional with over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector. She is an established Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). Desirnai’ received a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University and a Master of Arts in Advertising and Public Relations from Michigan State University. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Philip D. Whitfield
Board of Directors
Dynamic leader with 20+ years of progressively responsible management experience in the areas of Accounting and Finance. Excellent analytical, technical and auditing skills including proficiency in GAAP, GASB, and OMB regulations and standards. Philip currently serves as the Finance Director for the City of Ferndale, Michigan. He graduated from PennWest Edinboro, Pennsylvania and Philip is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Lavar Drummond, Ed.S., LLPC
Board of Directors
He was born in Jamaica and raised in the city of Detroit. He graduated from Cooley high school, and earned several higher education degrees. He is notable for his professionalism as an Educator, Licensed Counselor, and Author. Lavar holds degrees from Oakland Community College, Ferris State University, Oakland University, Eastern Michigan University, and Wayne State University. He’s an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
